Nicky, Executive Chef
Nicky B.
Executive Chef, Boulder

I grew up in New Mexico, in a culture steeped in culinary tradition, and that upbringing shaped how I think about food long before I ever put on an apron professionally. I went to culinary school at 19 and worked my way through several kitchens, learning the trade from the ground up. Eventually I stepped away from the profession and spent the next fifteen years working in education.

When the pandemic began, I found my way back to cooking. I started offering private and personal chef services to families here in Boulder, and the work has grown steadily ever since. Right now I cook for two wonderful families: one relies on me for weekly meal prep, and the other hosts dinner parties one to two times a week for eight to ten guests.

Whether I'm prepping a week of family meals or plating a multi-course dinner party, my goal is the same: bring people together around delicious food.

Alongside my private client work, I run a seasonal supper club in Denver with my business partner and fellow chef, Daianna Soto Saldana. Between the supper club and my private clients, I get to cook across a wide range of styles and occasions, from quiet weeknight dinners to full tasting menus for a table full of guests.

She / Her / Ella

Daianna grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and is proud of her Mexican heritage. Her love for cooking began as a child in the kitchen with her grandmother, where food became a way to connect with family, culture, and tradition. That early love eventually led her to culinary school, where she expanded her skills, techniques, and understanding of food. Today, she specializes in Mexican, specifically Guerrero, cuisine, while drawing inspiration from her experiences, travels, and the diverse food cultures that surround her.

After moving to Denver, Daianna found new inspiration in the local food community and developed a deep passion for growing food and connecting with where our meals come from. She loves incorporating homegrown and locally sourced ingredients into her supper clubs and events, creating menus that reflect the seasons while celebrating the food grown around us. Her cooking brings together tradition and creativity, honoring the flavors and techniques she grew up with while making them her own.

With a background in hospitality management, event coordination, and community-centered programming, Daianna brings a deep appreciation for the art of gathering to her work as a private chef. Through her supper clubs, she creates intimate dining experiences centered around food, connection, and community, inviting guests to slow down, share a table, and enjoy being together.

For Daianna, food has always been about more than what is on the plate. It is a way to tell stories, honor culture, nurture community, and make people feel at home. When she isn't cooking or hosting, she enjoys yoga, camping, growing food, and spending time with the people she loves.
